Looking at homes with John is like having your own personal building inspector and general contractor there to guide you. He was quick to point out details that I definitely would have missed (hello covered up water leaks, termites, security issues) and had helpful ideas about changes that could be made and what they might cost. On several occasions John steered us away from a particular house, giving us his opinion that the value wasn’t there, or there was something structurally unsound about the build. As first time home buyers, we had a lot of questions, and he was so patient, taking the time to talk through things, always making us feel like we were his only client even though we definitely weren’t! He was super responsive, usually getting back to us within minutes when we reached out. I really appreciate that John is a straight shooter, he will tell you his honest assessment even when it’s not in his best interest. He always provided realistic guidance around things like pricing and the market. He was a fierce advocate for us when he began negotiating our offer, and I really do believe his professionalism and communication skill resulted in us getting an exceptional deal on a great house. He gave us sound advice about what we should offer, negotiated on our behalf aggressively, and even after the buyer had accepted our offer, he found a few more things and managed to get the seller to knock a few thousand more off the price. As we put together our offer, John coordinated things smoothly and kept us in the loop with excellent communication at all times. In the end, I bought a great house for well under list price in a crazy competitive market where that’s virtually unheard of, and I felt so confident about the process because John guided me through every step.
